This pattern offers the star pattern, with instructions for adding as many stripes to the edge as desired, with two separate headband options.This is very adaptable as well, and can be added as an applique to hats, scarves, blankets and other items. Preference is given to both the magic circle and foundation (chainless) stitches in this pattern, but if you prefer to chain instead, the instructions for those options are given as well.
